Sri Venkatachala Mahathyam (wedding chapter 1-3)
The description of the procedure of "Mangala Snaanam" ('auspicious bath') procedure of the celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi).
1)Janakaha:-
Thathah Kimakarothkrishnaha Sreenivaasassathaangathihi
Thanmamaachakshva Bhagavan! Vistharena Mahaamuney!
Meaning:-
Lord Janaka addressing Sage Shathaananda:-"O Great Sage! Kindly narrate to me in detail the deeds of the Protector of good people, Lord Srinivasa."
2)Shathaanandaha:-
Shree Lakshmee Sahithasshreemaan Shreenivaasaha Pithaamaham
Abraveethpreethamanasaa Prayunnjaanaha Prayojaney!
Meaning:-
Sage Shathaananda started to narrate:-Lord Srinivasa along with Goddess Sridevi appointed Lord Brahma to organise the wedding celebrations of Himself and the Lord was very happy at the prospect of His own wedding!
3)Shreenivasaha:-
Karmaani Puthra! Kaaryaani Kuru Sheeghramathandrithaha
Sa Thadvachanamaakarnya Sasanthoshaha Pithaamahaha!
Meaning:-
Lord Sreenivasa instructed Lord Brahma affectionately:-"My dear son!Please organise all the necessary rituals and programmes for the wedding. I want you to be very attentive and focussed in the work assigned to you!"
